  • Prospective cohort (cross-sectional and longitudinal) of patients with viral hepatitis (HCV, HBV and HDV) associated with databases (clinical and biohumoral parameters) and biobank (blood, plasma, liver tissue from biopsy) for natural history assessment, complications and outcomes during antiviral therapy and after eradication of the virus following antiviral treatment
  • Development of networks to create linkage to care and screening projects for populations at risk for hepatic diseases with infectious aetiology, aimed at detecting the submerged and treating people with active disease
  • Clinical trials for the treatment of viral hepatitis HDV, HBV, HCV
  • Participation in the Hepatitis International Delta Network
  • Participation in international working groups for the standardization of molecular biology methods for the determination of HDV viremia
  • Development of new serological tests for the identification of the different stages of the natural history of chronic HBV infection, for the monitoring of patients in therapy with nucleos(t)idic analogues and for the prediction of occult infection in anti-HBc-positive subjects (antiHBc Igg quantitative and Hbcrag).
  • Development of molecular biology methods (ddPCR) for the research of viral nucleic acids in circulation and in liver tissue.
  • Validation of HCC biomarkers (MIRRA project)
  • Participation in national working groups to draw up guidelines for antiviral treatment for hepatitis HCV, HDV and HBV
