The research and clinical activity of the group directed by Prof. D'Avolio (Associate Professor of Pharmacology) at the University of Turin and at the Amedeo di Savoia Hospital of the ASL City of Turin), as head of the "Laboratory of Pharmacology Clinical and Pharmacogenetics" (Laboratory certified for Phase I AIFA, UNI EN ISO 9001 and 13485 for CE-IVD), has been held since 2006 on the following topics: clinical pharmacology; study of pharmacogenetics; the management and personalization of therapy in patients;

  • clinical pharmacology of anti-infectives, cancer drugs (including tyrosine kinase inhibitors, mitotane, etc.), antihypertensive drugs, iron chelators, monoclonal antibodies, anti SARS-CoV-2 drugs and therapies, etc.;
  • management of therapy personalization in patients; intracellular and tissue pharmacokinetic evaluation of anti-infectious and non-infectious drugs, including through the use of clinically applied pharmacogenetics in patients receiving chemotherapy (as part of clinical routine and clinical trials).
  • Routine diagnostic analysis for clinical biological samples arriving at the laboratory for "therapeutic drug monitoring" (drug quantification) and pharmacogenetic testing (evaluation of single nucleotide polymorphisms).
