- study of platelet function, leukocyte-platelet interaction and humoral mediators involved in critical diseases such as acute coronary syndrome, acute renal failure, sepsis / septic shock, acute aortic syndrome, cardiovascular complications of diabetic disease and acute respiratory disease from SARS- CoV-2 (COVID-19);
- biomolecular study of the immunopathological mechanisms that control the growth process of gastrointestinal and hepatic tumors;
- study on the diagnostic and prognostic ability of circulating biomarkers (proteins and miRNA) in patients with critical pathology such as acute heart failure, septic shock, acute aortic syndrome and COVID-19;
- study of the role of extracellular vesicles in cardiovascular alteration during sepsis;
- evaluation of the 1st level clinical ultrasound role in the diagnosis and prognostic stratification of acute diseases (acute heart failure, syncope, respiratory failure, COVID-19)

their role in the development of organ damage in the burn patient and/or with sepsis/septic
shock; - evaluation of the 1st level clinical ultrasound role in the diagnosis and prognostic
